Con-Drain Opens Canada's First Clean Air Subdivisions in the City
of Vaughan

VAUGHAN, ON, Dec. 2 /CNW/ - Homeowners will have the opportunity to live in a sub-division that can say that it was built in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Con-Drain, Canada's largest construction company, is using BioDiesel in all equipment involved in servicing the sites in Thornhill that will eventually contain 5000 new residential dwellings.

"We have an opportunity in our industry to show some leadership and what better way than to protect our environment and our equipment at the same time," said Romeo DeGasperis Vice President of Con-Drain. "We know that we can use BioDiesel in our equipment and, therefore, create a better working environment for our vehicle operators and for the people who are eventually going to call this   development home."

Con-Drain is currently creating the subdivision using the clean air fuel in over 100 construction vehicles which are involved in a variety of tasks ranging from earth movement to excavating.

Toronto-based Canada Clean Fuels, Canada's largest distributor of BioDiesel, is supplying the fuel, which it acquires from Topia Energy Inc.

"BioDiesel is good for our staff and they have told us that they find the exhaust noticeably friendlier to be around," explained Mr. DeGasperis. "We're sure that we're going to see some long-term equipment benefits, but in the meantime our staff is happier and more productive. Plus, Canada Clean Fuels fills   our vehicles right on site, which actually helps to make our operation even more efficient."
