McGuinty's Announcement Great Step for BioDiesel

OTTAWA, Nov. 26 - Today's announcement of a Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) for all gasoline sold in Ontario by Premier Dalton McGuinty was hailedas a positive step by Topia Energy Inc., Canada's largest commercial producer and supplier of BioDiesel.

It is very good news to the health and prosperity of a province anytime its leaders take the step to ensure that an RFS is in place," said Govindh Jayaraman, President of Topia Energy Inc. "The fact that BioDiesel can do for diesel fuel emissions what Ethanol has and will do for gasoline emissions is even better news. Since both are made from agricultural products, the RFS is a boon to the Province's Agricultural Sector. Topia is currently seeking federal government support to open Canada's first large scale BioDiesel production plant in the Province. The economic impact of which has been estimated at over $100 million annually.

BioDiesel is helping to extend Canada's petroleum reserves and reduce our dependency on foreign sources. BioDiesel is the only fuel to be classified as entirely non-toxic; it biodegrades faster than sugar, is ten times less toxic than table salt and produces exhaust that some say smells like popcorn or French fries.
